Down below in the catacombs, another being rested. He was not so concerned. He was old, very old, and he had been waiting quite some time to see an end put to all of this.

Kilgarrah clapped his wings once, and then came upon the rock. He laid his head down and relaxed.

That end would not be tonight. Not if Merlin could help it.

They were, it seemed, back to where they started. Physically. Everything else had changed entirely.

"Your loyalties are to yourself as much as mine are," Merlin shot back. He took a breath before calming down again. "You told me my path was with Arthur. Arthur will die out there unless I can stop Sigan."

Merlin closed his eyes and nodded, waiting for whatever was going to happen... to happen. Right. This felt silly.

The dragon pushed forward, reaching out with his mind and exhaling-- dropping a truth-bomb sharing one particular piece of understanding, words and thoughts, letting it touch on the magic that laid so densely curled up in that tiny form before him.

And with that, it was done.

He leaned back. "Few men have been gifted such knowledge. Use it wisely."
