Dinah... was really hoping Arthur would not hear about anything from anyone or suspect anything or have a reason to call and try to chew her out.

Dinah turned to direct a Glare of Wounded Outrage over at Francine and/or Katchoo, and said, "Mind being more specific, Arthur? 'Cause I don't know what you think I've been up to, but I've accomplished all my goals for this week."

"Really," Arthur said, in a drawl that spelled danger on all ends. "I didn't realise that getting one's guests kidnapped by armed bandits was such a high-end goal for you."

"I did not get them kidnapped! I took them to a party and it just-- kinda happened! I did get them rescued after only 16 hours, thank you very much!" Dinah's voice was rising and she took a breath to say, "I would like to see you have done so much better against guns and knock-out gas, wiseguy."

Naturally, Arthur was going to focus on the one part of that ramble that was actually in any way relevant. "Ah. It just," he repeated, faux-cheerfully, "Kinda happened. I see."

He really needed to stop imitating people with an American accent, but that was hardly relevant.

"They paid for tickets and snuck in! It was a huge ball and the security missed the weapons they'd concealed, and yes, so did I, okay? And when they made their move I was a little busy hitting them with the eskrima Barbara brought along, keeping Tony and Karla from getting taken, keeping myself from getting taken, and yes, okay FINE I shouldn't have let anyone else get taken either although how I would've stopped it I still don't know!"

"You might have considered not taking them out into dangerous territory," Arthur pointed out, "Or at least taking enough guards along. I expect better from you next time."

Dinah stopped to strangle the phone for a minute, making high-pitched growling noises that would've cracked Arthur up, if he'd been there.

"I didn't know it was--! Fine. Fine. Okay. Next time, I'll have two superheroes for every civilian I take anywhere in New Gotham." There! That would work!

"Better," was his only response.

Dinah grumbled, stomped around a little bit, then said, "So. Morgana's fine? Merlin's still safe? Your dad's... your dad?"

"No one's in any danger, though not for lack of trying on Merlin's part," he said, dryly. "And my father is fine, thank you for asking."

"You're welcome-- and what's Merlin been trying to do?" Dinah asked, worried. "Something with the phones, or something else?"

"He wants to charge the phones with lightning," he said, flatly, "And he's doing it in all corners of the castle." A slight exaggeration, but sadly... really only slight.
