Corner of the Park, Sunday Morning

Dec 20, 2009 14:48

Winter had well and truly come to Fandom, and that meant there was even less for Arthur to do than usual. Hunting rabbits in this weather was little fun, even considering the distraction of Merlin attempting to be stealthy. His hands had been itching for something to doIn the end, he'd decided to take Brynmor for a walk. The dog was practically ( Read more... )

Zack was taking the scenic route on his way to work at the Fina, today. Which... was nothing new, really. He tended to leave an hour or two early so that he could stretch his legs some and try to burn off a bit of excess energy, so that the dishes survived the day only mildly exasperated.

Today's scenic route meant a jog through the park, and a grin at the birds on the ice, and then a complete about-face as he realized that right over there was a puppy and an Arthur and- Puppy!

"Good morning, Arthur!" Plans for a morning jog tabled for the time being, Zack, with his sword on his back and a bag slung over his shoulder, made his way over and waved.

By Arthur's side, Brynmor perked up. Honestly, the dog was ruined.

"Morning, Zack," Arthur called, sending a curl of wood down to the ground with an elegant swipe of the knife. "What brings you out here? Nostalgic for a good night's march?"

"Antsy," Zack replied, grinning and holding a hand out to the dog. Dog, meet puppy! Puppy, meet dog. "If I don't get out and around and do something before my Fina shifts, the dishes start to throw things at me about halfway through the day."

They loved him! They just... had no idea what to do with him when he started to get twitchy.

"You?"

"Antsy," Arthur supplied, with a wry grin. Bryn nudged her nose against Zack's hand happily, her giant tail twitching. "It's not really good hunting out with this weather. And I can only spend so much time watching Merlin making a prat out of himself..."

To be fair, he could actually spend a lot of time watching Merlin make a prat out of himself.

Dinah had her phone in her pocket, and was now staring at the flamingos with her rented skates over her shoulder, shaking her head. It would take something like that to distract her, yes.

"Just when I think this place can't get weirder...."

"The birds aren't that bad," Arthur said, from his perch, where the wood was starting to assume some kind of shape. "At least they keep to themselves."

Dinah glanced over her shoulder, and quirked a smile at him. "Unlike the little hangover elves, or the snow angels?" It was pretty, watching them do ice ballet. She crouched down and held out one hand to the not-really-a-puppy any more. "Hey, Brynne. I have a prezzie for you back at the dorms. You too," she added over the dog's head to Arthur.

"The last thing she needs is more treats, Dinah," Arthur bitched good-naturedly. Bryn, obviously, had no compunction about sniffing at Dinah's hand while Arthur whittled at what, if you squinted, was starting to look a bit like a bird's head.
