[for this occasion, he's decided to take the costumed option given to him when he first entered--it's been several hundred years since he's bothered to blend in. he's currently wearing something like
this--except he's tossed the headdress and spear--while he's tinkering with a strange contraption he's set up in the outskirts of the fake city, especially since he doesn't want any guards coming and shutting his operation down, especially now that he has something he can hit the simulated stars with himself.
after the sand settles from being kicked up from his manic hopping about a few minutes later, anyone watching can see he's got a motley collection of items--all covered in a coating of sand--set up near the contraption. the thing itself emits an odd humming sound thanks to the special electromagnetic clamps he's using to secure the device to the enviro-dome's metal floor. certain that he's being watched, he dusts his hands off, sticks his sonic screwdriver into the belt around his waist, and grins broadly at the sphere.]
I've been listening and watching what you've all been up to, and can I say: what a smart bunch of people I'm travelling with! You lot never cease to amaze me! [is very damn proud!] With all this talk about Greek and Egyptian mythology for the past couple days, it's really had me thinking--and I think I might have an idea which star Orion's hidden that pulse package in.
Anyway! [dashes over to his contraption. it's anyone's guess just how many items from level 15 he's managed to cobble together to create it, but create it he did.] Thinking back to what the Commander's said about the Captain, how the man has no respect for the stars...well, I'd say he has even less respect for the people on-board.
But most importantly, I'd say he has no respect whatsoever for this ship itself. After all, he's allowed it to fall into disrepair, allowed for those explosions--especially that big one on level 10 a few months ago--and...I really don't have to remind people about the crash, do I? Any good captain wouldn't allow that to happen to his ship.
If I'm remembering my Terran mythology and constellations correctly, at one time, there was a constellation called the Argo Navis that represented the ship Jason and his Argonauts used in their adventures. It's still there, that's not going away any time soon. However! That constellation was later broken up because of its size--personally, I think astronomers were just being lazy--into the constellations called Puppis, Carina, and Vela. In the constellation Puppis, I'll let you look up which part of the ship that is, there's the star called Naos, or Zeta Puppis if you really want to be technical. So what better a place to hide schematics of a ship than on a star whose name means "ship"?
[pauses for a moment, furrowing his eyebrows] Actually, come to think of it, there's another star sort of like that called Kappa Velorum, or Markeb depending on which way you want to go. So! Let's hit them both, shall we? I brought plenty of extras, just in case. There's an awful lot of stars up there.
Oh, uh, anyone up there flying or walking around might want to watch out. Just to be safe.
[leans over, and after making sure the armatures on it are mostly free from sand, he flicks a switch on the contraption. all of a sudden, it jumps into life and for all intents and purposes looks like a fancy, high-tech slingshot, minus a long rubber-band off the ends. he mumbles something to himself about double checking the coordinates, then he loads the armatures with a small roundish shape and for a moment it remains suspended before it begins to whirl around faster and faster until it takes off! he smiles as he watches it go, and a few minutes later, it hits Naos, the ball exploding on impact and forming what looks to be like a single firework. he cheers loudly, proud to see that it actually worked, and adjusts the slingshot's trajectory, and aims another one at Markeb, and soon that one hits its mark as well.]
[expect a pretty display as he goes through all the stars in the constellations formerly known as Argo Navis.]
[ooc: After Naos and Markeb, he'll continue to hit stars in the Puppis, Carina, and Vela constellations until he's hit them all.]
