Essay question

Clearly my time is better spent thinking of new essay questions for the (Un)Common Application than doing ANY of the work I initially set out to do.

My favorite so far:

"Everyone's had a dream where they've had to save the world from some impending doom, like giant killer mushrooms or the prospect of failing a really intense architecture competition against your grandparents. Sometimes you're paired up with a random sidekick, like Abraham Lincoln, your best friend from second grade, or that bus driver you always thought was creepy but thankfully turned out to have an encyclopedic knowledge of the Chicago School of architecture (who knew?).

Have a dream while you write this essay. What impending doom are you trying to impede? What's your plan of attack? Is it working? Do you have a sidekick? If so, who is it? Is the world a better place because of your dream-actions? Why, for Pete's sake, can you never seem to run quickly enough when the doom is approaching?

Most importantly, what happens when you wake up?"
