So yeah, I'm definately supposed to be practicing at the moment, but I just did about an hour and a half of straight playing, I'm gonna give my lips a well deserved break and kill my fingers instead
Going back to school today was fun. Not really though. We did some improv in theatre, which was kinda interesting. Basically we broke up into groups and took four topic sentances to string together and make sense, and then performed them. Pretty much all of the first scenes were the quality of the first week of the year. Then, we traded story lines with each other, so we had to improve on each other's, which was pretty easy, since they all sucked. It was fun, especially the second time, because you already had the characters and story, you could focus on making them better and stuff, instead of coming up with them. My group (Me, Bernardo, Sarah, Katie) did pretty well on our second one, everyone seemed to like it and Krikstan didn't give us such a bad look afterwards. Speaking of Krikstan, theres no rehearsal this week, and rumors we aren't going to regionals because he's so mad at the state his room was left in and the fact that a lot of set stuff was left out for the whole weekend.
Physics was easy as pie. I like pie. We did "carousel" problems, that had nothing to do with carousels, so instead I drew one my groups poster. It was greatly appreciated. Then lunch, which really means flute choir rehearsal, and then I didn't have enough time to finish my lunch, so I was eating right outside the bandroom and Mr. Baldwin was giving me a hard time, but he was just joking. hmm run-on, but I don't care. Band and IB Music, same old same old, and then I got a ride to the mall with Thomas and the two of us met Quyen, Lissa, Kyle, and Nikki at Chipotle's where we all ate way too much food and laughed a lot. It was fun and then I ran off to work. Hoory Erin, my newest manager, really likes me! : ) I'm glad, cuz when she first got here, I was afraid she was going to fire me every time she opened her mouth. It was a little scary. But it's all good now, and I got home 8ish because turns out the were over hours, hey fine by me, so I practiced a bit. Which really means a lot. So now I'm done writing, and I'm gonna go slam all three fucking movements of the Sonata in A Minor for Flute Alone by C.P.E. Bach, edited by Arthur Ephross (who is a hack, none of his recomendations make any sense) into the wall. And I wouldn't normally be practicing this much (okay, maybe I would), but I have a lesson tomorrow for the first time in about three weeks, and the more I know the pieces, the faster I can get through them and get help from Alix on all of them now and then detail work until the IB Music performance taping in March. Gah. 20 minutes. I'd like to tar and feather the person who thought that one up.
luv
