Concerts, Flowers, and Other Smelly Stuff
Yeah, I totally just wrote this all a few minutes ago, and then I closed the window instead of hitting post. So here's the shorter version.
1) my parents have made it to one (1) concert in 6 years to hear me play a solo or even with an ensemble. that was tonight.
2) my parents have never been supportive of my playing flute in any other way, shape, or form, besides monetary.
3) my parents bought me some random bouquet and gave them to me tonight and then started being all upset when i was slightly less than ecstatic, cuz i was waiting for the catch which came in the form of:
4) "do we have to come to any more winter/holiday concerts? cuz their annoying and stupid" (please note that this was a french flute music concert)
and of course
my favorite:
5) "why did you sound like you messed up so much?"
GRRR.
but i did play very well.
