2011 challanges

I'm about 10 books away to fulfil my 52-book challange and am already at my 18th (or 19th?) country for the readtheworld  challenge. I'm not stopping, I'll continue reading till the end of the year/ challenge and see how much further I can go. So now, I am thinking what kind of book challenge should I take up next? I realised, I'm not a bookclub kind of person. I read and know what kind of books I like and enjoyed but I don't know how to express myself, or even bring myself to go into a discourse on the book, the language, the characters. All these are too much work for me. I know I want to read at least a series next year; Harry Potter, Lemony Snicket, LOTR, Narnia, Baroque Cycle... I find Marks Reads Harry Potter very interesting. I think I could do that if I have time. I probably do if I quit my job hehe. Are there any other series I should look out for? I'm not really a sci-fi/ fantasy kind of person. I'm not too sure about Twilight and Millennium. Would probably check out Sherlock Holmes and more Jane Austen and classics.

Reading aside, traveling wise, I have decided it's time to conquer the New World. I can do a long holiday; fly into UK, do my Transylvanian trip, fly to New York and do watever New York stuff I want to do and see if there are any other cities I can fly into. North American is expensive like crazy! I need a lot of goodwill from strangers for free lodgings.

I'll see what else I can do after I come back to Singapore. If my day-dreaming plans go well, I'll fly to NZ to help a friend with his chocolate factory and my LOTR tour. If not, I'll apply to Kinokuniya for a cashier position. Haha!
