Angkor

I did my Angkor sunrise tour today. The sunrise was okay-ish, I prefer the sunset. I was in time for the sunset at Angkor Wat yesterday and the view was awesome! Angkor Wat kind of glowed at sunset and the entire complex turns orange. Very, very, lovely. As I walked back towards the tuk-tuk, I saw this glorious ball of a sun. It is humongous and it is orange! I can even look at it with my naked eye! It is really, really big. The sun.

Siem Reap is really, really, dusty. I had to scrub off a few layers of dust every day in the shower. The guesthouse was ok, the location was ok, I think I can walk to the city centre in about... 20 minutes? It is about 15 minutes to Angkor by tuk-tuk. Siem Reap is safe. I can walk around the Old Market (Psar Char) at night by myself and not get harrass by anyone. It is common to catch the attention of peddlers and tuk-tuk drivers, just say no. If they are persistent, ignore them or I say "lady no want tuk-tuk/ book/ food/ bag/ water." But that hasn't happen yet, because most people are pretty friendly.

I saw Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom + Bayon, Ta Phrom today and already feel very templed out. Has a tinge of regret for getting a 3-day pass but I think I should be able to enjoy myself at Banteay Srei and Kbal Spean. The thought of the long ride on tuk-tuk out of town is quite sian cos the air is really bad... And, it is very hot. Don't believe in what you read in the internet. It is suppose to be one of the coolest months of the year and it is hot like f*ck today.

The city is very small. Thinking of how I am going to spend the remaining 4 days is a bit sian. I am going to find my Singing Tree Cafe tomorrow, visit some art galleries across the river, try to walk to the Old Market and do some random shopping and eat Khmer food! I saw a bag at refuge Cambodia and like it so I might go back and get the bag. The markets are selling fake Northface backpacks at $14 (quoted, can still bargain), I think I want to get one too.

Still very much alive. Show you nice pics when I'm back!
