Devon & Cornwall

I spent the bank holiday weekend in Devon and Cornwall. The weather wasn't good as it rained (or rather, poured) on the second day of my holiday. Thank goodness I was in Eden Project so I hid in the biomes, safe from the rain.

Drove by the Stonehenge. Heh!

It was such a long drive into Devon and had a stop in Exeter. I wasn't in the mood to walk around much anyway. I just realised the world's narrowest street is in Exeter and I didn't see it! Argh!

I can choose to pay 20p to cross this river or take a detour and cross 2 bridges to go to the other bank. A longer detour and cross 1 bridge is another alternative.
It was quite funny. The ferry is very environmentally friendly, there is a rope across the river for the boatman to pull to move the ferry.

There was some dancing thing as well, I forgot what dance it is.

Exeter Cathedral has the longest uninterrupted vault in England.
I felt strangly peaceful in there.

Dawlish seafront and the red cliffs.

Another Dawlish.

Heading towards St Austell, drove past Torquay, the English Riviera. Also the home of Agatha Christie.

Torquay Pavilion, which is a shopping centre.

Spent a night in St Austell and went to Eden Project in the morning.

It is a huge place! There are 2 biomes, rainforest biome and mediterrenean biome. The rainforest biome reminds me so much of Singapore, warm and humid but not as hot as Singapore. A lot of people could not take the heat and humidity, of course, it was pretty crowded too so it was really stuffy inside. Nice though! I saw mimosas and a lot of people are interested in touching them. I was telling everyone that mimosas are everywhere in Singapore and I used to step on them ever so often when I was a kid in school. I was very proud haha!
Lots of flowers around and I think a lot has wilted since spring came early and is gone. I missed the sunflowers.

Rest of Eden Project

Was in Padstow for lunch. Rick Stein has a fish & chips restaurant over there and I heard it was overpriced so I went to another cafe for fish & chips, apparently I was told that it serves one of the best fish & chips. But, not as good as those I had when I was in Perth...

Cornish cream tea, a must-try in Cornwall. The best scones I have ever had in my life!

Next morning, headed to Tintagel, King Arthur Country, rumoured to be Camelot.
It was raining so heavily that we have to hid in the Camelot Castle Hotel. But I braved the very strong wind and rain to take some pictures of Tintagel Castle.

13th century round table in Camelot Castle Hotel.

One part of the ruins.

The other part of the ruins.

Just to show how strong the wind was. Again, I was almost blown away, literary.

Drove through the Dartmoor National Park on the way back to London and stopping by Princetown and some place which I had forgotten the name for lunch break.

I think this picture looks a bit like a Windows XP desktop pic.

Drove through some long, winding roads with tall hedges. Beautiful green landscapes, thanks to spring and summer!

A cute, isolated building in Princetown.

I forgotten what is this place. I have a problem with remembering things nowadays, I better do something about it...
