What Time is It? Summertime!
It is now officially summer. Woo hoo! It's even nice today. It was nice on Father's Day, too. Saturday, it rained like a motherfucker. Friday was decent, which I was glad for because it was the kids school picnic at Waldameer. It was fun. We took Daughter's friend L. L.'s grandma doesn't seem to care for her that much; she treats her like crap. We've fed her supper for most of the last year. She said once that if she could choose godparents, she'd choose me & Husband. Poor kid.
We had a good time. It was fun. We even got to go in the waterpark. It was a little chilly, but not too bad. I was really proud of Daughter. She rode everything! Even the Xscream. No one would ride it with her because we're all too chicken. But she loves it, so she rode it herself. They're going again on July 10, but I'll have to work that day, so I can't go. I only got to go this time because I traded with someone.
In other news, I've decided I've pretty much had it with long term care. I've been a candy-striper, an activities assistant, a CNA, & an LPN in various nursing homes. I'm over it. Unfortunately, in Erie, this means I gotta go back to school. Around here, an LPN is basically stuck working in a doctor's office (which pays jack shit) or long term care. I'm gonna try to go back to the school where I got my LPN; they have an RN program, too. I know I can get in there; they hold spots for LPNs & I'll already have 7 credits towards my RN just for working as an LPN for longer than 6 months. Next year, I'll try to transfer to one of the schools that offers a bachelors. My ultimate goal to to become a CNM. Thats a Certified Nurse Midwife. Should be interesting! Wish me luck!
OK, I'm off to do yet another of those 300 loads of laundry I have today. Bleah.
