-- There's been a lot going on as of late.
-- The US plays the Czechs, Italy, and Ghana in the World Cup. Not tbe best group for the US by any means, but not the worst, either. If they're going to win, they've got to beat some tough teams and be tested. Bring it on. And bring on the beer, too. I kinda wish the US would have gotten a match in Koln where I'll be staying, but it is what it is. I've gotta see about getting a ticket to England/Sweden in Koln, though.
-- I am so glad that The Roommates and I decided to go througha travel agent for our WC tickets/accomodations. It was worth paying extra for the peace of mind once I knew that I lost out on the initial Lottery. Especially given what's gone on today with ordering tickets through US Soccer. I don't mean to cast aspersions on anyone, but tht sounds like a bad place to be in if you want to get US tickets. Good Luck, Caroline (and Mark)!
-- The fire in London has to be pretty unnerving thing to be right in the middle of. Who knows what's dissipated into the air and water?
-- Work sucked last week. Sucked. Fortunately, there wasn't *that* much to do on Saturday, which allowed me to get to go to Holiday Party #4. It was cool, but not as good as past versions. The problem is that there are distinct groups of friends of the two hosts, and they were all pretty much cliqe-ish. A couple of the folks that I've seen at this party over the past couple of years were cool to talk to, but how much of a conversation can you really have with someone that you only communicate with once a year? The fact that I had to stay sober due to being On Call didn't help that much either - Being The Sober One at a party when everyone is getting good and wasted isn't a good time, I tells ya. But the party was fun though, don't get me wrong.
-- The night got even better, as I got a call halfway through the party from a couple of good friends, one of whom ins't in town that much. The Roommates and I were all going to bail on the party early to begin with, so once I got home, I headed right back out the door to Adams Morgan. Where I ended up talking to drunk girls on and off through the night and ended up dancing for quite some time with a girl who either drunk, weird, or a colossal flirt.
-- Got Holday Party #5 and a pretty big party of another kind on Saturday. Can't wait. Work just needs to cooperate, though.
