It's certainly true about dogs growling if they're on eye level. Don't kneel down next to a strange Alsatian, is something I learned as a child. (Without ill effects, I'm happy to say.) Baby humnans are a bit the same - out them on a stage or something, where their eye level is up with yours, and they love it.
I've only just got round to reading this last weekend, and I love it. I read all the Blytons as a child, though not recently, though I did see the Granada TV series. Question, if it's not impertinent - which is easier to write - Forest's really well-defined characters, or Blyton's ne-dimensionals?
That's a lovely question to mull over - thank you - but I warn you, I shall ramble!
This fanfic becomes harder to write as it goes along and it's the FF characters who are harder. EB didn't want to develop her characters and this is a greater skill than it seems. Somehow she kept the interest in FF going for twenty one books and the only character development is George in the first one and that is minimal

I love Dick farting all night and thinking he's funny - that never made it into Enid Blyton's version! LOL!
Thank you, this is fab. :-)

Also, we don't really know what he's like when one of the gang isn't there and I quite like the idea of him being a little unpredictable!
