The Sad Tale of El Who Never Called Her Friends - A Cautionary Tale

Jun 25, 2010 15:51

El Gibbs oft had splendid days
Quite entertained in many ways;
Stories, places, movies, games,
And drawing doodles of her shames
Left her with so much to do
The time quite literally flew.
Yet, somehow, El Gibbs did miss
The creeping sense of listlessness
That, under the hullabaloo,
Left her feeling rather blue.
The days went on, and so did El,
Entranced by things she loved so well,
So when her heart, exhausted, broke,
She thought it was some kind of joke!
Away she withered in her humor,
Still shut away within her room or
Office, often all alone,
When she should have picked up a phone.
El’s story has a sorry end-
Neglecting to call any friend,
She lost her will to carry on
And, in a few days, she was gone.
So mind you closely what I say:
Go outside and seize the day!
Don’t sit back and wait for things;
Orchestrate some happenings!
Lest you end up like poor El,
Live your life, and live it well!

(I'm actually doing just fine and have had plenty of fun company lately; I just had sudden inspiration, and I love a good childish poem that's really rather horrible XD <3 I think this calls for an illustration...)

cautionary tales, poetry, ridonkulousness
