The technology I have been waiting to come into its own for computer monitors and video monitors is OLED.

They finally started producing the technology for cell phone screens a few years ago. There has been some production into the monitor market I believe. OLED reminds me of a technology from a science fiction book that was called "window walls." Essentially very large, very thin displays that could be constructed to take up an entire wall. Imagine that? Display screens like having your own small movie screen in your home to play DVD's or possibly hookup to your PC.
