I think this whole lack of posting thing will only get progressively worse as internet access has become officially SHITTY in this residence, not to mention hot-water usage traffic. refusing to pay rent until I'm getting what I pay for. oh and my kitchen lightbulb burnt out and the coating of my pan started cracking/flying off when I left it on the stove too long. luckily I have friends who magically have unwanted pans left in caves that I can scrub up and use and then donate to other friends when I don't need them anymore.
tried a new way of getting to work: taking an actual train and not just the regional tracks. cuts down about half an hour of travel time, but still long. arrived at Montparnarsse this afternoon from work at 5:30pm, not bad. tried the "tres rapide" conveyor belt at 9km/hr to get to the other side of the train station. holy shit I almost died twice on that thing, first time getting on, then again getting off. isn't 9km/hr something like 7mph? next time I'm totally taking the "tres confortable" conveyor belt. or maybe bring sneakers with me just to master the 9km one.
work is fucking tedious and I'm supposed to become a MASTER of excel and powerpoint. boring boring boring. can't wait to become an HRD so that I can make lil interns do this type of work.
my group as school is working on a paper on promoting diversity in a multi-national firm. the whole thing is bullshit because out of laziness, our group's trying to limit its topics to cover only age, gender, and ethnicity. really? whatever happened to religion, disabilities, political affiliation, sexual identity/orientation, etc etc etc etc.
and, you can't be promoting diversity if you insist on using language such as "handicapped people" or "disabled people."
you can't talk about CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY when it doesn't exist.
future's looking glum, but I need to make my knowledge and skills marketable to survive. such hypocrisy leads to more slacking off at work because all of my efforts will be going towards something I don't agree with and can't believe in.
but that's work, right? just roll in the dough and ignore the philosophies behind these protocols. just play musical chairs all day, switching between metros and buses and trains and office chairs and cafeteria chairs and then more office chairs and the toilet until you realize you've forgotten to apply your cellulite cream yet again. skinny jeans are so awkward but DAMN they make my ass look good and my legs super toned. not really appreciating the camel-toe, though. must spend another 2 hours in the changing room to make my third final decision.
ok going to write more on diversity. I hope you are all well.
