Hello everyone, I have two important issues that I'd like to address to all members in this post. Please read on.

1: Special Categories
Recently we've changed the Moderator's Choice category to a random Special Category as some other icontests sport. It was an abrupt change, so this is my official post filling everyone in on what's going on. These are the Special Categories we'll have for the contests: - Most Creative: The icon that shows the most originality from the others through.
- Best Adaption: The icon that represents the theme the best through both the chosen image and text.
- Best Caption: The icon that has the best text content. This means the words' actual meaning matches the icon well. This can be well-chosen lyrics, a good phrase, or even a single, effective word. Don't confuse this with Best Typography!
- Best Color: The icon that stands out from the rest color-wise. It has the most effective use of color, whether it's faded, vivid, monotone, or duotone, etc.
- Best Typography: The icon with the best treatment of text regardless of text content. This applies to the physical appearance of the words on the icon and can include good use of dingbats. Good text placement also plays a role in good typography. Don't confuse this with Best Caption!
The Special Category will be randomly chosen by whoever is running the contest that week (either myself or nyaabo) just before writing the voting post. On voting posts, we ask that you vote for four icons instead of three as some of you have been in the last two contests. I understand that those who have only voted for three icons probably just missed the notice on each voting post since it was so sudden. But now you know. Any votes missing a Special Category vote will be discarded completely.

While we're on the subject of voting, a few of you have been voting in the contests without being a member of the community. Be sure that you are actually listed as a member of the community before you vote, not just watching the community! This isn't a big problem, but do check that you are listed under "Member" in the community userinfo or else you cannot properly participate in the contests. This goes for both submitting and voting.

2: Banner Makers
Lately it's been a real burden for me to make banners for each contest. Most of my free time is devoted to filling out college-related applications, and there's just not enough time for everything. Many thanks to those that volunteered to help me out on the last few sets-you guys are awesome. If you happened to miss your banner, please check back in the community memories for the post it was in.

So to hopefully make things run smoother I'm looking for some permanent banner makers. cdg_icons has already volunteered to be one of our official banner makers (thank you!). I am looking for one to three more people to put on the banner schedule. Before you volunteer, please make sure that you're really willing to dedicate yourself to the job. I would also like for banner makers to be able to animate the banners of animated icons if possible. But other than that, if you're interested in being a permanent banner maker for bishounenawards please leave a comment here letting me know. Thank you!
