Love

For those that care, or are interested, Im going to make a post about love. Love is a word, we all use, some use it alot, some lightly, but it is always meant to show a liking or caring for something. Yet how many actually think about love, and what it really means or stands for? Does anyone really know, can it really be described, or just felt? I will explain what it means to me.
Love, True love, not the kind you just think about or want, but the kind you experiance, the kind you know, the feeling that encompases you like a blanket or sheet, is the greatest force in the world. Next to Greed, which does control the world through material means, what else is better, or more important than love? True Love knows no bounds, it doesnt need excuses, it glides over obstacles like water over rocks. Not stopping, Not evading, its course is as solid as a rock, an immortal rock, not able to crack, break or falter. Yet how many truly know or experiance this? In my favorite book, the author states the opposite of fear, is love, and in a way, that is so true. When you truly love something, no fear, nothing will stop or get in the way.
There are many forms of love. Take a soldier. The love for his country, he will lay his life down protecting it. His love for comrades, he will knowingly jump onto a grenade, or hazard, giving his life to preserve others. The love for himself, essential for courage, he will do and brave things most cant imagine, over and over.
A firefighter. Love for his job, love for people. Risking himself for years, running into a place everyone else is running out of. He will do so again and again, into a place you couldnt pay most to do.
Take a mother. Willing, knowingly enduring pain of childbearth for her born. Again and again for some. They way they treat, and care for their children, sacrificing, and hurting over and over again. Or how about a woman that will lift up a car to free her trapped child from underneath. Normally an impossible feat, but love, unconditional, unflinching love makes it possible. Which proves my point.
Nothing, NOTHING is above, or beyond the reach of love. True love. When you have something as fierce, and solid, as unmoving as that unseen force, that can topple anything.
Yet why is it so hard to understand, or harness, or believe in. Its like a relegion, giving you faith and belief in something you might not have had before. Something that is a pleasure to know, feel, or pass on to others. There is nothing more important in the world than that.
Say what you will, love is the most essential, and most satisfying form of devotion, or a feeling, a person can posses, it never lessens, never fails, but is always there, maybe not through words, but by actions, by feelings, by knowing, why would you turn your back on that? One day we will die. On our deathbeds, what will you need more? Your car, a big fancy house? Or the true full knowing feeling of love, and feeling love. What is more important than that?
