Personality:

Most tsun-tsun Bunny to have ever existed, the end.

...no, wait, not really. There's a lot more to Barnaby than that.

The first thing you need to know is that he's a person who puts up many masks. The first one is his public face: the charming, charismatic, valiant hero who has the ladies of Sternbild falling all over him. He's polite, calm, smart, and handsome to boot. He knows how to work the camera, and looks good in most everything.

Unfortunately, like I said before, this is just a mask. He's very different in private.

How different? Well...

He's not very nice, actually. He's polite, of course, but he's also a polite jerk, especially if you're a certain old man named Kotetsu T. Kaburagi. He's cold, emotionally distant from others, has serious trust (and memory, but that comes up later) issues, and is basically an arrogant prick who (seemingly) only does the job for the points. "A real hero never leaves a point behind" is his philosophy, and he looks down on Kotetsu, who sticks to what he sees as an an old-fashioned ideal. Plus, despite his immense popularity (especially with the ladies *winkwink nudgenudge*), he barely has any connections with any human being. Hell, Kotetsu is the only person who he's ever managed to form a bond with since he was four.

But he isn't completely cold-hearted. Sure, he may seem like he's only doing it for the points, but he's still a human being, albeit a jerk of one. A good example is when he saves Kaede, Kotetsu's daughter (not that Barnaby knew that at the time) in one of the earlier episodes, despite the fact that there were no cameras around and thus no points to gain. And that leads me to my next point.

See, Bunny (/ducks kick) wasn't always like this. When he was a kid, he was a happy, sweet little bugger who enjoyed life. His parents loved him, his aunt loved him, and he had a pretty good future ahead of him. But one day, during the Christmas season, he came home to find his parents dead, his house on fire, and the murderer. The trauma of seeing his parents dead erased the murderer's face from his mind, but not the tattoo on his right hand. (Or at least that's what he thinks.)

From then on, he dedicated himself to revenge. Revenge has driven him for most of his life, and that has turned the sweet little kid into the tsun-tsun arrogant prick we all know and sorta love (but mostly tolerate). It's also eliminated any chance of his reaching out and making real friends for, oh, two decades.

And then Kotetsu came along.

At first, Barnaby didn't really think much of him. Hey, you wouldn't think much of anyone if you had to rescue them princess-style in your very first meeting either, would you? Besides, the only reason as to why they were partners was because the company wanted their new hero (him) to become more popular. As time passed, though, he grew to actually care about him, and trust him enough to not only confide in him what happened to him as a child, but also, after a rift, to defeat Jake Martinez, the person he thought murdered his parents, by using what he thought was an ultrasonic grenade (it was actually a flash bomb) given to him by Kotetsu without thinking too much on it.

In fact, Kotetsu's managed to break down his walls, bit by bit. It's seen post-timeskip, as he's become less of a jerk (though he still has his moments) and somewhat nicer. He's still a bit of a jerk and a troll, though, but post-defeating Jake, he's a lot happier and less focused on revenge.

Of course, given what happens over the course of the series...well, let's see how it works out.

TL;DR: Less tsun-tsun, more dere-dere, but still a tsundere. Especially if you're Kotetsu.

Abilities:

Barnaby is a NEXT, which basically means that he has an awesome power up his sleeve. That is the ability to boost his natural attributes (i.e. strength, speed, that sort of thing) by 100x for five minutes. The problem is, once time's up, he can't use it for an hour before being able to activate it again.
