Day 07 - Least favorite episode of your favorite TV show
Now I know I'm in the very, very small minority when I say that the House episode I hate the most is 'Broken', the season premere of season 6.
In retrospect it should have been the signal that s6 was going to suck.
Maybe it's because they enforced a bunch of characters we didn't know as 'normal' in the premere? Maybe it's because they tried to show a 'change' in House, but it came off as incredibly OC at certain times?
I don't know. I just know that the biggest problem I had with the entire premise of House's 'change' was Lydia. :/
It's easy to group this opinion with the whole 'jealous fangirl' bit, but that's seriously not the case for me. I liked House getting along with the psychiatrist from 'Frozen', I loved House and Stacy and especially House and season 1, 2, and at certain points 4 Cuddy. (The Cuddy right now confuses me). Heck, I liked House with wheelchair doctor from s3 or even the midget mother from the same season!
Surprisingly enough, however, it's not really the 'character' and how she doesn't seem to mesh well with House (even though it's a contributing factor).
The thing I hate most was that she cheapened House's entire change that they were trying to get across in both episodes!
I never had high expectations for the writers to create a believable, brand-new, for-the-better House in such a short amount of time; and even then, for the most part, his behavior in the episode was tolerable, but the killing blow was how they tried to rush along all House's character development with an "intimate relationship."
Not only was it hard to grasp, but it also makes light of any other growth he may have had. I mean, how are you going to set a slow pace for his character development, then in the final 20 minutes or so try to rush it along with 'the magic of love'!? I mean...what?
For many other characters out there it's believable, but for House it's just doesn't work (at least not quickly).
I don't know, maybe the point just escaped me completely and I have it all wrong. *shrugs* Doesn't matter, its not like the rest of the season did any better.
