Origami.
I used to do a lot of origami as a kid. Now, I only remember the ball (which I never got how to do as kid, while everyone else did) and the bases.
Two months ago, at the Japanese festival, a girl taught me how to fold an origami rose (blue, of course, because fake blue roses). It's a pretty difficult piece and I'm sure that if I tried folding it again now, I wouldn't be able to do it.
Last month's (or so) CO+K's newsletter featured Japan/Japan-inspired crafts and so I came across an origami flower I was confident I could fold by following
the tutorial. Results are shown in the pic~

Kirigami.
This one I would do a lot as a kid, too, especially for snowflakes. But only now have I learned it's name and origin. :P
