Subcultural Boy
I think I've been having this same conversation for about 10 years now.
But really, us "Subcultural girls" are probably some of the hardest kind of gals to please.
You could say we're just a tad pickier than you're average girl, which makes it harder yet more rewarding for us in the end.
We like our significant others to be able to either know as much as us or even more (ooh quite impressed!). About what you ask? Well, about 85% of what we're into. Mainly music but it can range from guitars,tattoos,being vegan/veg and even comic books...it really all depends on what type of person we're talking about here. We like someone we can relate to. Some who we can pick at their minds and they'll pick back! Someone to be our partner in crime! ;) Someone who excepts our eccentric concepts/lifestyle. Especially someone who won't try to change us or try to make us the slightest bit "normal"...The last thing any of us girls would want. ;)
The trouble with wanting all this out of mate is that sadly... a good amount of sub guys aren't always for a gal whose into what their into... mind blowing right? I mean I understand having your own thing or you like difference in a relationship; which actually I'm personally all for...Please have you're own mind, opinions, taste, if we have some differences this relationship is only 10x more interesting...if you are a clone of me... I'll be bored from 0 to 60.
I know some men argue that with a non subculture gal you can go to shows/conventions/etc. and won't have the ol' ball and chain hanging around. I don't personally understand it unless the "ol ball and chain" is annoying as fuck and you need some alone time? Sharing a something you enjoy is half the fun of a relationship. Why not go pick up golf if you want to get away? Or sounds like you need a better girlfriend. ;)

Being into subcultures of any sort, you understand that joy of having a different view of the world, its sacred, its exceptional, you wouldn't want it any other way... often the music we enjoy expresses this as well.
What a wonderful way to see the world, most people see what they want to see with their eyes half shut... while us weirdos stare wide open; right into the nasty reality of the world...oh and how it burns! ;)

Sorry I'm getting a tad off topic, but yes being a girl and preferring a kind similar to our own can be a challenge at times. Sometimes I feel a tad bad for the "Plain Joes" who fall for us! I'm sorry guys for the most part, unless you are quite intriguing in some other sense..if we can't relate. No chance.
So to a conclusion for now, us weirdo girls won't stop being picky...we'll stop as soon as we stop being weird I guess ;)
