I like Irish dance for many reasons, one of which is the loud noise you get to make with your hard shoes, another of which is the music, and a third of which is that I can't really dance otherwise; I am all elbows and self-consciousness, and in this kind you stand up straight and keep your arms at your sides and do what they tell you with your feet, and you don't have to spell out the alphabet with your hips. Although there are hilariously named moves, like "rise and grind" and "flirtation" and "stack-up." To name three from one group dance we learned yesterday.
