Oh, Leon is one of my favorite movies too <3 and I love what you did with the instrumentals in Corpse Bride, especially the slow build-up in the beginning, and then syncing the playful scenes with that light, airy part of the duet. The timing of the revolver snap was also perfect ^^.

Thanks! I think in our earliest days we bonded over the movie, unless I'm misremembering, because we also bonded over Thomas Kretschmann and he's not in this. Such a fantastic film.

I've been wanting to do a vid to the Corpse Bride duet for a little while now, because of its perfect setup for loneliness followed by the delight of finding a partner or buddy, and was waffling over which pairing to set it to -- Rodney/Katie or Rodney/John from SGA, or House/Wilson, or someone else -- and nothing fit quite right. Then I was searching for music to set this idea to, and wham. It makes me happy. :)

More than you perhaps wanted to know, but there it is. Thanks again! Happy you enjoyed.

Yes, I believe we did ^_^ I've been mainlining mafia/crime/hitman flicks, so this was certainly a welcome treat on my f-list. I rarely find good fanvids done to pure instrumentals. Would love to see more of the old fandoms ^^.

Thanks, and maybe I can help on that last wish -- thedeadparrot actually just did a beautiful vid of Star Trek II and III set to an instrumental: http://thedeadparrot.livejournal.com/450657.html

I tried to watch it, but it won't let me. DDD: It skips to a screen that says, "You just watched Duet for Two Handguns" and when I click Replay it doesn't work. D:

Alas!

I've just updated the links with the correct aspect ratio. Does it work now?

There we go! It's wonderful. You've caught the poetry of the movie with the music.

Thank you! I wasn't expecting to set this fandom to that song, but I think it works for them. It basically follows the same progression as the movie.

As you probably already know, I absolutely love The Professional (and Jean Reno), so it was great to see that you'd used it for a vid. The music works well with the clips. It's a shame that the piece doesn't have a real resolution and just kind of ends, though. That kind of threw me.

Hm, sorry about that. The duet ends with a giggle and snatch of dialogue, which threw me more than ending on the trilled notes. I was hoping that ending on the longer clip with the pair of them and the smile, showing that they're together where Leon started alone, and happy where he started lonely/secretive/ashamed/etc., would do the trick. Thanks for letting me know it still kind of hangs there!

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear: The vid has resolution (the clip with them together and M. smiling works perfectly); it's the lack of resolution in the musical piece that I found a bit odd. Knowing it was from a soundtrack, however, I kind of assumed that you had no other choice.

Perhaps editing the last few seconds to speed up the credits and the appearance of the gunsight might help, so it's clear that the video has ended.

I've actually never seen this and know nothing about it! But I enjoyed the vid very much, and am intrigued about the movie now. Nice work.

What program do you use, actually?

I use Adobe Premiere to edit, DivX to convert, and ... AnyDVD? to rip. The quality loss mostly comes from the ripping; I don't have a good compression option (yet).

Leon is a fantastic movie and I recommend it to everybody. Especially the complete, international version, which is almost half an hour longer than the US release that contains some really critical footage.

I like the way you've taken the two different musical threads and given them to the two characters. Oh I love that film.
