Half-Blood Prince reaction

Where are all the Harry Potter posts? Are you all seeing it now? Are you all at Azkatraz? Did I mistakenly assume everyone would rush out to see it in the first 24 hours? (There wasn't even a line at the movie theater here, although I did go at an off time, and they were running every half hour.) I'm really out of touch with this fandom.

Spoilers for book/movie six and a mention of something in seven. )

*not reading below the cut not reading below the cut*

Some folks are posting about it (aside from you : ) Azkatraz starts tomorrow -- the movie viewing is tomorrow night for it, when HBP was supposed to release.

OMG my plane leaves at 5:45 in the morning.

You will have an AWESOME TIME OMG. Wish I were coming. Actually, just wish I could have seen the movie with you. We'll talk when you get back. And hopefully see it again in a few weeks, in the same theater, at the same time.

SAFE FLIGHT PLS.

I actually quite liked ST 09, but that's neither here nor there.

I'm going to see the new HP movie at the drive-in on Saturday night! I can't wait.

Ooh, drive in! That should be great fun.

ST 9 or ST Reboot? All I remember of 9 were gold sails on a ship and Data in some kind of lake. And Reboot was just -- well, insert my unpopular fannish opinion on its quality here. Never mind, I see the '09 now. :) Well, the second sentence stands. I thought it was terrible except for new!Spock.

Oh, I meant reboot. And you're certainly entitled to your unpopular fannish opinion. *g*

I'm quite excited about the drive-in. I saw the last HP movie at the drive in a few years ago, and it was an awesome way to see it -- fireflies and all. :-)

I had just about decided I wasn't going to bother seeing it, since I didn't like the last movie. (There was a Starbucks near the theatre, and I kept wishing the movie would be over...)

Your review might just sway me into going! I'll go to Starbucks first.

PoA is my absolute favourite of the books, hands down. I think I've always been a bit in love with Lupin.

What didn't you like about the last movie (as compared to the others)? That might help me give you advice on this one. :)

I adore Lupin as well. He had a small role in this one, but it was much better than his tiny part in OotP, where he had, what, two lines? This time he got to deliver an important opinion, and even though he interrupted Tonks with little respect, I enjoyed most of his time on screen. Did a little talkin', a little sufferin', and a little protectin' -- what more can you ask?

I'm not sure what I didn't like about the last film... it seems so long ago! But I will go see this one, I think, thanks to your assertion that Lupin had more lines! I like Tonks, but I never really saw a lot of Lupin/Tonks chemistry in the books, I confess. And I always thought that he would play a greater role in the ending; I thought his being a werewolf and an expert on the dark arts would make him... I dunno... extra magical? Ah well, he is still my fave!

Indeed, more lines+suffering+protectings is A+++ (aka triple angst) for me!

Lupin/Tonks came out of nowhere, and I didn't buy it. Quite like Rodney/Jennifer. But the movie really downplayed it, made it matter-of-fact and background, and that worked well.

The only HP movie that's done anything for me is PoA. That was great. I was under the impression from mainstream reviews that this was 'almost as good', but idk, meh. I really, really don't care about the relationships. Although I'm with you on the Snaaaape. And Draco was pretty awesome too :D
