Drabble & kibble

Those of you who might be interested have probably already seen this, but yesterday I committed iambic pentameter in SGA based on a post and comments at sheafrotherdon's. I suppose it's only fair, after doing the epic House adventure. It is called Rodneyo and Johniet: A Prologue, PG, 100 words, warning for meta and showrunner-bashing. It's at Cate's (beware " ( Read more... )

So long as I leave it in there unopened, it is neither okay nor sour.

I believe that is a universal truth of milk.

I totally approve of the mallomar runaround. You was so tricksy! You had those mallomar people fooled, lol.

My dad used to tease me for having eaten raisins in multiple bites when I was little. Shh-I still do that, sometimes. Grapes too. They last longer and can be better appreciated that way. They are sensual on the lips, grapes. And blueberries. Come on, how else does one discover that blueberries are green on the inside?

I do this, too. Especially with candy--like Jelly Bellys. I love that you do it with raisins. And grapes! Do you also peel grapes with your teeth? I can make a miniature pretzel last a long time, and things like peanut butter cups and hoho cakes can take ages, lol.

Oh, jelly beans, yes! They are so often clear inside! Clear and yet flavorful! That is either fascinating or terrifying, depending on your opinion of their manufacturing process.

I do not tend to peel grapes, because then the skin is bitter and the inside is just mushy. And with pb cups or snack cakes, the chocolate melts on my fingers if I eat it in little bites, so I guess I tend not to nibble as much. Though pb cups, at least the full-size ones, can't be eaten in less than two bites. That'd just be wrong.

LOVE the prologue - I'm not even an active SGA fan, but your parodies are always fantastic because of how well you catch rhythm and phrasing. (Things that scan properly are funnier, trufax.)

I suppose that just buying chocolate-covered cookies would defeat the purpose of the Mallomars experience? :)

I remember reading in Isabel Allende's Aphrodite: A Memoir of the Senses, which is a sort of treatise on food and sex and storytelling disguised as a history of aphrodisiacs, that Allende once went to a workshop where the participants had to take five minutes to eat a single grape. She says she still remembers every detail of the taste and texture. Small bites are definitely the best way to make sure you savour something. :)

Not at all! It's just that this box was brought to me unrequested from another state, so what was I supposed to do? I must mutilate eat them.

Trufax! OCD works so well when writing in meter.
