Fic! "Substitute," John/Rod (SGA), NC-17

Jan 17, 2008 07:34

I wrote something last night! Start to finish! And I like it! It was for oxoniensis's Porn Battle V (the fifth dimension) for the prompt: "John/Rod, swing." Who knew that "it's only a quickie porn-fest" and "this can't be more than 4300 characters" would be the combination of restrictions that got the job done? They kept me from worrying about plot and ( Read more... )

Dude! Man, I love the whole absent third aspect of it, which I think was handled pretty subtly, even though I was totally looking for it.

I also love Rod in this. Rodney, except not at all.

Also, hee on the subtitle. Lookit Rodney being all oblivious!

In terms of comms, there's mensa_au, if you want.

Ah, yes, I knew there was Mensaverse comm out there but I couldn't remember what it was. Cool -- I'll check it out later and see if it's appropriate to post this there.

Thanks for the comment! I'm so glad to hear that the subtlety (also known as "not enough space, so let me just mention it here and here and in the title") worked, and that Rod did feel like Rodney-but-not, and, yay.

Good suggestions on the comms.

The "my John" was meant to be an offhand reference in the same way repli!John said "my McKay" in "This Mortal Coil" -- no intimacy necessarily intended, but just a way to keep the doubles straight (so to speak *g*). Would it jar you less if it said "my Sheppard"?

I like more context too, and I kept wanting to add some, but the nature of the Battle is to write smut-and-only-smut, and no more than can fit in a comment. So, this.

I'm glad you liked it for the most part, though! And happy to see you stop by during your semi-hiatus.

Yay. :)

I've changed "John" to "Sheppard," but I'm going to leave it there for simplicity's sake. Thanks for mentioning it.

Yay bironic! You did it! I knew you could do it! Heee! *dances with glee*

And oh yes, it's hot hot hot. And though I don't watch SGA at all, I understood enough. ;-D

\o/ Thank you! Those other prompts didn't take, but your link sure did. I'm going to try to do another one before the Battle's over -- House or a crossover, hopefully.

though I don't watch SGA at all, I understood enough.

I am thoroughly pleased to hear it. It was fun to try to write one of those the-fandom-doesn't-matter-because-it's-hot-sex kind of pieces, and happy-making to hear that it worked for you.
