Note to my peeps... Charity
I know this is a slightly late rally cry, but I'm going to shout it out anyway.
The Bear group I got involved with is doing a charity drive this Boxing Day. They're looking for non-perishable food and second hand clothing.
The clothing is going to All So Fabulous, the op shop run by ALSO, a philanthropic not-for-profit based in Melbourne, serving the GLBTIQ community. Proceeds from sales go towards funding ALSO's projects in the community around such things as GLBTIQ seniors, advocacy, youth and rural life.
The non-perishable food will be going to Positive Living Centre, supplying free food and regular meals to people living with HIV, some of whom are often placed in a position of financial disadvantage due to various issues around, y'know, managing their health.
If any of my Melbourne people have something they could contribute, I'd love to facilitate that! I'm in the northern suburbs and have a car, I'm happy to spin around to pick up whatever you've got, or I can arrange a time for it to be dropped off.
