It is, but I don't know how well it will translate to another cultures. This is a book written at the beginning of the military dictatorship that creeped our country up, and it was banned almost as soon as published. We used to pass copies of it, as we did with every banned book we could get our hands on, and this is why I read it for first time when I was 15 years old. I have lost count of the times I have re-read it since then. I also saw the musical , which was... weird, but nevertheless, faithful to the spirit of the story :P
And yes, I do, too. There are those books that you keep reading and reading and always find something new on them.

And there's nothing wrong with rereads; I reread a lot.
there is a movie based on this book. Bad, yes, but nowhere does it say that the movie has to honour the book, so...
