Funny how things go from brilliant to shite so quickly. Does it happen this way for most, or am I just especially lucky?

I'm beginning to miss the days where I threw myself into my work and stayed there. Having a so-called 'social life' isn't at all what it's cracked up to be. Perhaps a holiday isn't completely out of order.

I'm a teensy bit ( Read more... )

Hahahahaha. I don't remember everyone here being so consistently funny! Things seemed to have changed for the better since my last stay.

I wish I knew your name, Miss "T," so I might more personally congratulate you on your stance. This is the most refreshing thing I've read in ages.

Here's hoping you don't feel too apologetic once you've sobered up.

Tonks. And I'm glad you found it amusing. I do try.

I don't feel apologetic at all. One never should for honesty.

I was being sincere before, lest you forget that I'm not one of the plethora of loved (or not?) ones that undoubtedly jumped down your throat at this little proposition. It was, again, refreshing in its honesty.

Aren't you wonderful, then? A brave woman in a careful, careful world. I quite agree, on the honesty front.

Oh, and while we're at it: I'm Ciarán.

Oh, I did take it to be sincerity. No reason not to, really. And I'm happy you found it refreshing. As I said, I do try.

I'd hardly call myself brave for being honest. But I am glad we agree when it comes to honesty.

Wotcher, Ciarán. It's a pleasure to 'meet' you. You wouldn't happen to be interested in the offered drinks and potential shag, would you?

[Ciarán, as so often happens when he's interacting with various unfamiliar (and unsuspecting) folk in his journal, indulges in a laugh.]

Ooh, will the fun never cease?

Wait a moment, this wouldn't be the Tonks of such vast and unceasing Order fame, would it? I am doubly honored.

As much as I pride myself on my constant availability on that front, I'd insist on dressing you up before dressing you down, I'm afraid. You see, I design clothes for a living.

Am I boring you yet? Let's hope so, cara.

There are a number of Tonks running around, I'm sure.

Ah, I see. I'm afraid I don't exactly follow fashion. It's typically Auror robes or jeans and a t-shirt for me. Combat boots optional. The only exception there's been to that in the past twenty-eight years was the Hogwarts ball.

But dressing me down regardless is still an option.

No, you're not.

The Hogwarts Ball? I was at that vaguely and pitifully laughable strange affair as well. My erstwhile head-of-house seems to have grown even more sour with age, I fear. But funnier, too. So there's that.

I'm still learning the many glories of Casual at present, so perhaps you'll be able to teach me.

Duly noted.

I do what I can. In more ways than one.

If it's Snape you're talking about, you can drop the subject. He and I aren't on friendly terms at the moment.

I could help a little, I suppose, but my fashion sense is abysmal, and I do mean that.

So I'm beginning to see.

I am, and I won't. Why is that not surprising? The man is social alienation on a stick. I'd bottle that essence, if I could. Surely there must be a better-placed use for his particular charms. Ah, well.

Right--Dropped, dropped. I'd be holding up my hands now in manly submission, if we were actually speaking.

Well, it appears as though I'll be cutting you out of your cancerous couture seeing rather less of your fashion choices than most, so I suppose I can tolerate some missteps.

Thank you.

Fashion's in the eye of the beholder, and all that shite. Perhaps I won't be as bad as I think I am.

Welcome.

I'm off to Japan for a few days as of now, but I'm sure I'll return more civilized and revived and all that shite.

Delaying pleasure only increases it in the end, after all.
