Hello, I'm a billion years behind the bandwagon.
I devoured Sherlock about a week ago, but am a bit confused. When I was downloading the eps, I found four different episodes- 00. Pilot, 01. A Study in Pink, 02. The Blind Banker, and 03. The Great Game. The Pilot is just a shorter version of "A Study in Pink", also with a few slightly different scenes, yes? So the season only has three episodes?
If so- damn you, ipod download communities with your misleading episode counts!
DID THE SERIES JUST END WITH THAT BOMB? AND SHERLOCK ABOUT TO BLOW IT UP? AND WATSON ABOUT TO BE FUCKING SHOT THROUGH THE HEAD?
But now that I've got that out- I am absolutely in love with the series. Back when it first came out and
articulation was so in love with it, I did not see the appeal (having never read the book or seen any of the movies). But after the first episode (I watched the shorter version first, "The Pilot", and actually like that better than "A Study in Pink" overall) I was gone. I love the mood of it, the relationship between Watson and Sherlock, I love how damaged Watson is (especially how Sherlock knew that all he had to do to get Watson to help him out was say, 'It could be dangerous'), the music, and I especially loved how both Sherlock and Watson seemed to know each other so well seemingly instantly.
Favorite part of possibly the whole series was the end of the first episode: Sherlock is about to eat the pill, Watson snipes the killer dead with only seconds to spare, Sherlock is telling the detective how to catch the sniper, but realizes that it's Watson halfway through, and then Watson calls Sherlock an idiot for intending to eat the pill.
Plus, how awesome was it when Sherlock thought that Watson was coming on to him, and Watson reassured him that he wasn't but that he was fine with it anyways, and Sherlock replying, "I know it's fine"? Loved it.
I can't wait until Season 2!
