Two Loves Collide

I have a lot to update tomorrow, but I can't go to sleep without posting about what I just found.

I am giving my sister one of the wonderful old film cameras I just received as her Christmas present. One thing she loves about my old ones are the vintage camera straps. So tonight I started surfing the web to look and see what options there are. I found a lot of beautiful ones that I think she'd like. I was just about to call it a night when I saw a link that said "Recycled Seatbelt Custom Owl Camera Strap". I was like, huh? Is that what I think it is?

Oh yes indeed!

I have seriously died and gone to heaven. Of course the one they have ready for sale right now is the one on the far right, the one that would be my first choice.

The problem? It is 50 dollars. Not that that's a ton for a hand-made vintage camera strap, but I am broke. Now, every year for Christmas our family does a grab bag and the limit is- you guessed it- 50 bucks. But I already had something else in mind, an old-fashioned-style camera that shoots those 70's feel vintage photos. It is in a kit that is 50 bucks. And I have wanted one for a long time. But THIS.... well, seriously, how can I not own one of these? I'll just have to save up. It seems like they can make more (I guess it is vintage materials assembled together today to make 'new' camera straps), and I'll take any of them, to be honest. They're all adorable. This is a must have, and I'm sharing it all with you. I am going to drift off into a blissful owl/photography sleep

PS- I just went to their site and they use the same fabric to make guitar straps too. Seriously, I am in trouble here!
PPS- I didn't drift off, but looked into it a little more, and the company that makes them is pretty much sold out of every color! So this might be the last available blue strap. My mom asked me today if I wanted (another) coat for Christmas; she wants me to go look at it tomorrow. Perhaps this is a better option, as I already own about 20 coats (not exaggerating!)
