I think it’s a house finch but differentiating between the house finch and purple finch can be tricky. Here are some past discussions that may help.

You are welcome. By the way, that is a neat user picture. At first, I did not notice there was a bird in it. At a glance it blends in so well with the tree, like a few leaves.

And some bright house finches as well...plus one female house sparrow dining with the finches. I love the singing shot.

I took a couple of goldfinch photos just 2 weeks ago, and they were still all raggedy looking - changing into their summer clothes. Nothing's nicer than clean new feathers. :)

I love catching birds in action.
