This sounds really sweet, if a bit sad. The second I read Ivy wanted to take the kids in during the synopsis, I said "Awwwww!" right out loud.

Oh, it wasn't really sad, there were some poignant moments, but overall it was quite hopeful

Oh, more hopeful? Okay, that's a nice thing. Usually I don't read contemporary (times and places I'll never experience tend to hog my attention), but I may try it sometime. :)
