A/N: Yes, that is a young Judi Dench, and yes she is my head canon for Mummy Holmes. For me, Mummy Holmes is the embodiment of outrageousness and prudishness of woman, especially woman in high society. She'd have to be the type to have cultivated a wide range of interests, and raising such extreme sons, I'd imagine she'd be the type to be something special. Mummy Holmes would have been a force to reckon with. More so, I think she would have been some combination of 'M', Emma Peel, and Margaret Thatcher... including Mycroft's job in the government and Sherlock's wild youth.
