*giggles* I've been duly repremanded. But I think I said the wrong thing, or said it wrongly.
I have my plot. I kinda like it actually, lol. But I like to iron out the details - like with a calendar and determining how long it would take someone to travel from one place to another - yay google maps! Likewise, I try and factor in rest stops, motels, bad traffic, Dean's penchant for speed, etc. Then I have to make sure that everything is well backed with research, and that it all fits within the story time line and the RL timeline. For instance, if the meteor shower happened on the 13th, I can't have said something about it being on the fifth just so I have an easier story. *shrug*
Also, I like to use actual places - like diners, gas stations, and tourist attractions. Which then have to be found or worked in, lol. >_>;
Oh and shit. I'm loosing my mind, there are some great resources on manuscripts and magical things - but yeah, that needs to be cross-referenced to. Otherwise I'd go nuts. OCD in research, lol..... Like I know what my characters are ordering in a restraunt in October when I'm still writing August. So yeah. ^_^;
I have everything planned Aug-Dec. Now I just need to do Jan-Nov.ish. Or yeah.
why ever not? the last one i wrote flipped back and forth over the course of a couple of months focussing mostly on one day by the end of it i didn't know which way was up
sometimes research comes to the rescue when i was doing my dissertation i had to write the accursed historical novel, I chose ludwig of bavaria (he was a dude) and he took his lover to paris and i couldn't figure out why, it wasn't in any of the books and believe me I looked, 2 mins on wiki it was a great exhibition year, and it was in paris, so i got to write a scene at the great exhiibition and got extra kudos for my research i love you wiki
this one, unlike 3rd bar, is very localised, it takes place in one town, mostly in one house - the Carlsen's house at lake Manitoc from ep 3 actually (not that it matters i like to keep things in house) so it gets much neater, but the point is the character losing himself in his own head - so that's a different thing altogether i don't know how much we're allowed to discuss the story, but if you want to pm me I'll happily tell you all about it
