...and why is this ship armed with weapons in the first place?! You'd think there was a high chance of us being attacked or something if they're going to go through that much trouble to bring in weapons.

We don't seek out battles, but we get into them. Someone might attack us, for instance. We've got to be ready to defend ourselves.

Hey, I know that! I've been training with Master Van for ages and I'm still nowhere near as good as he is. I'm not even good enough to fight him seriously.

Yes. Yes they could. And they know there's that risk when they attack us.

We don't want to kill anybody, but if it happens in the course of our defending ourselves, so be it.

Then my advice to you, Luke, is stay in your room during the battles which won't even happen that often. It'll be the easiest way to avoid them.
