free concert on gravel ground.
tough expensive steak on monroe.
priceless conversation on who we used to be,
silent wonderings of what we will become.
hand held walk on the old rail road bridge
over swift dark waters.
another long hard look in the dark.
I swallow in fright
at the weight of his glance.,
the tilt of his chin,
the angle of his brow.
Pulling me against the rail,
the sky emits a falling star.
Only I see it-like a misfired work.
He sees the reflection.
I hold him tighter.
How was the air? Perfect for this city.
They lit the carousel, but not the bridge.
That's okay. A reluctant parting gave way
to a down window drive with cherry lipstick.
After a night like this, I cannot sleep.
