Is there even a future when all we look to is the past?

Is fashion dead? you're probably thinking to yourself: who the hell is this bipsy chick and why does she presume the position of asking a question that is literally 10 times bigger than she is, even on a good day?  That question is valid. But so is the first one.
I only ask it because the fashion blogs I frequent, and by frequent, I sincerely mean frequent, the wave of the future (as Howard Hughes used to repeatedly bleat), is 80's...so 80's that I remember being made fun of in grade 6, by the grade 8er's for wearing this fashion. Example: flourescents. I remember in grade 6, crossing the playground "boundary" (soooo invisible, but soooo there) and encountering the "cool" grade 8er's.  I was wearing a flourescent pink & black striped dress with flourescent pink tights. No lie. The first grade 8er I passed, laughed and pointed and most likely said something cruel that I have now blocked out of my mind.
But, shit, I'd be cool today if I had that outfit. Yea, grade 8er, stick that in your pimply face.

Want proof? Fine, I've got it.
