Here are the much attested to, much needed facts:
the true creator of the formula is apparently, Gilbert Mustin, Sr.
Walter Diemer (Gilbert Mustin's accountant, who knew nothing about chemistry at the time of bubble gum's invention) is claimed to be the inventor
A July 1990 edition of Smithsonian magazine published an article on the inventor of bubble gum, whom they claimed to be Walter Diemer.
Gilbert doesn't know this but (and he won't because he is dead)....according to the story, no publication has acknowledged the fact that Gilbert Mustin's name lies on the original 1928 patent for bubble gum.
