Judgment

I have decided that I dislike the Idea of being tolerant of other peoples views. People who say this and say that no one should judge another persons culture are idiots.

That was kind of harsh.

I mean this in the way that when people say, well there really must be no ultimate right or wrong thing, its just their culture. This is a completely fallacious argument. If in fact this did follow, there would be no such thing as moral progress. There would be no way of condemning practices that are morally wrong. There wouldn't even be a way to refine your own society except to get back to the way that it had been set up.

Under this line of reasoning there is no condemning anit semitism, it was just part of nazi germany's culture, who are we to judge. There is no method with which to condemn the apartheid in south africa, that was part of the white culture down there. How can we be so arrogant as to assume that we know better how they should cnduct themselves. I hate that argument.

An example of this was that definition of marriage that sofia posted on facebook, and Tim commented on. People are too concerned with offending other people. There seems to be a right and a wrong side to that argument, and some people are just wrong. Which side it is, is not easily forthcoming, but that doesnt mean that it doesnt exist.

I dont really like this post. It didnt say what I wanted it to. I think Im going to post it anyways. whatev.
