I recently made a huge change in my life (if six months can be considered "recent"), which included accepting a job in another state and relocating. Upon my last meds refill, I was notified that I either had to visit my psychiatrist or seek a local provider. Since flying from southern California to eastern Washington isn't possible, I've scheduled an appointment with a new psychiatrist. I'm really nervous about the process of switching my care over to someone else. I got really lucky with the last collection of docs I had, and I'm afraid I won't like the new docs I'm trying to line up. Has anyone else made big changes like that? How did it work out for you? How can you tell for certain that the choice in pdoc you make is the best one?

Also, I work in a high stress environment and things can get pretty crazy. I've spent the last six months being under a lot of pressure to learn the ropes and get good evaluations, so I expected a certain amount of emotional unrest. But I've really noticed that I have a hard time keeping it together the more my proverbial "plate" piles up. I'm actually thinking an increase in dosage might be in order. What are the chances my new pdoc would be willing to play with my dosage to find a better balance? Do new providers tend to want to stick with what was initially recommended by the original pdocs? I've been experiencing a lot of racing thoughts lately, which is always unsettling, but it's beginning to combine with quick shifts in mood that are also worrisome. At this point, I would really like to hear any coping strategies any of you might use in a high stress work environment to make things easier on yourself.

Thanks in advance for your comments. :)
