It's Ladies Night!

Last night, I went to a ladies night organised by my parents church. I'm not normally a fan of such events but this one was different. There was no preaching, none of this "we'll have a meal and then have a time of worship". It was a bunch of women getting dressed up and having dinner, all prepared and served by the men of the church. And it was hilarious! All the men were dressed up and serving up food, my dad was in the kitchen doing a Gordan Ramsey (although he did manage not to swear!) and some of the other musicians played the piano all night or sang Van Morrison and Who songs!

There was also a charity auction with such prizes as someone doing your ironing (that was my dad!) or being loaned a brand new BMW for 2 weeks. I won a cinema experience, courtesy of my mum's boss. He has a cinema room, complete with projector and THX surround sound (not Dolby! Oh no, he'd never have that!) and in with my package I get my choice of film, popcorn, drinks, ice-cream and as many friends as I can fit into this room (his kids, apparently, are not optional and, if it's the right film, will be sitting on someone's knee! And, if we're cold, he'll just send in the dog to lie on our feet!). So now I have to pick a film. It has to have a really kick ass soundtrack so I was thinking of the new Transformers film seeing as I didn't catch it at the cinema. Hmmm... I'll have to muse on that one...

Anyway, as promised to a few people, here's some photos:

Mai swanky new dress. Look away now if bingo wings scare you!

My mum and I:

Our table:

Gordan Ramsey, sorry, my dad!

Some of the "waiters"! Bless 'em, they did a fantastic job. :)

The hall and it's decorations. It looked so nice with balloons and ribbons and glitter everywhere. It was a really girly night and I can't wait for the next one although I suspect it'll be a while because the boys needs time to recover.

My mum and her best friend, Marion. Can you tell I take after my dad?!

Some of our "entertainment"! Let's put it this way, they like to think they're rock stars but they'll never make it past that little stage!

Sorry for the crap photos but I point blank refused to lug my big camera around with me so I used the one on my phone (which I thought was better than that...)

all dressed up
