chicken flavour

my friend and i was discussing something about chips when he asked me "how exactly does people know how chicken taste like?" Does chicken even have a taste? Say you boiled the chicken meat and eat it, will it taste like those "chicken flavoured" potato chips?

isn't chicken mostly eaten with other sauces or marinated with seasonings? so wat taste are we talking abt here?
