No more crazy Kim!

So there has been no new post for a while. I'm actually using my slight headache tonight to catch up with a few things online so I might make a couple of posts (but doubtful). I doubt anyone reads this anymore anyway but I'm going to start using it as a place to try and express certain thoughts but since my mind is so nonlinear, we'll see how it goes. But before I get serious and give opinions I'll sum up the last six months.

Kim got married. Before getting married, she turned into craaaaazzzzzyyyy Kim from the stress. Luckily I didn't take this out on other people too much and just internally melted from time to time. Extra luckily is that my maid of honour was around for three weeks before the wedding and helped a lot, my husband helped a lot, and the other bridesmaids helped quite a bit. There were a lot of stressful bits but there were a lot of fun bits too (the day of the wedding went fantastic!!). There were also some crazy bits (related to my oh so amazing luck) including waking up two days before the wedding at 6:30am with a mouse on my head. Twice. Okay I didn't realize it was a mouse the first time which was it was allowed to happen a second time. That was followed by me freaking out (I'm not scared of them but I do not like them on my head when I'm sleeping) and me tossing the room in pursuit. It escaped then but I caught it later that afternoon and set it free outside. Incidentally its capture is another funny story since my husband happened to come into my parents house (where I and Cat, the maid of honour, were staying at the time) while I was catching the mouse. And since I was very happy about catching it I was, um, quite vocal. So my husband came in the front door to hear me yelling, "Oh yeah baby, come to mama. Woohoo! Oh Yeah!!!" and several other things, quite loudly. He thought it was hilarious. I was just happy I wasn't going to wake up with a mouse on my head the day of the wedding.

After the wedding we had our mini honeymoon (which didn't turn out very well since we were both sick) and then I had some vacation. Do to a bunch of stuff that had to be finished my three and a half weeks of vacation was more like one week and a half of vacation but it was still nice and greatly appreciated.

I'm back to work now and the magnet (which has not been operational due to a broken piece of equipment since March) is now up and running. They did the install of the new equipment three weeks ago (I learned stuff) and we've been doing calibration and various tests the last couple of weeks (I have learned even more stuff!) with only one more week of tests done before we're ready to scan humans again. I'll still have probably a couple of weeks of prep stuff to do before I can run my study (since I'll have to make sure my specific stuff is still working) but we're getting there. And I've learned a ton of stuff in the past few weeks. I'm still trying to take it all in but it's been really awesome in the feeling useful sense, because I've gotten to do some of it all by myself.

And now we're back to school (although I'm only auditing one class this term and not doing any TAing). Hopefully soon I'll make a post about something that I've been thinking about and learning about over the past few months (mostly in a reading posts and thinking introspectively kind of way). Specifically, the realization that I am totally a feminist and that is cool and awesome.
