The haircut!!!!

OK, so today was really weird at school. I know that it was
probably supposed to be strange without the kids there, but I didn't quite
expect it to be this weird. Students kept floating in and out--even some of
the seniors came by to see us...which was really weird. I put a couple of
them to work taking things off the walls and such for me. That part was
nice. :-)
Joea told me she had made my hair appointment for this afternoon, so
I was glad that Karen and I had checked the battery in my new camera. It
was working, and so I was able to get pictures of the "before and
After...and I think I even got a shot of half of the ponytail as it was
being chopped. My hair is sitting wrapped in foil, waiting for me to put it
in the mail for Locks of Love. I'm glad to be doing this.
I'm not sure if I really like my new cut, though. Right now, I'm
fighting the urge to go jump in the shower. I wish I knew why getting a
haircut always makes me want to go get a shower.
The sides of my hair are a little longer than the back is right now.
I know it is wispy, and will catch the wind quite readily. I do hope that I
can fix it nicely. Joea said it looked really good, and she said she
thought I could just dry it, brush it, and go. I'll find out tomorrow.
I think the best part of the whole haircut experience--aside from
getting rid of all my extra hair, was the price. I got my eyebrows waxed,
and with the cut, it was only $18. I might just be able to have a
manicure/pedicure in a few weeks--after I get a little bit of a tan. Pam
has tanning beds in her shop, but I really don't want to go there, so I'm
going to try to spend a little more time outside, maybe have lunch on my
crunchy lawn.
The other big news was tat it was cloudy most of today. The
meteorologists have said that the ridge of high pressure that has kept rain
from coming this way is breaking up. I think I'd even be excited with a
thunderstorm at this point, and I really naturally hate thunderstorms. I
just hope it rains a little. I am ready for the smoke from all the wild
fires in Georgia and Florida to be out of here.
A train derailed in Castleberry, carrying some chemical used in the
production of cough medicine. It forced an evacuation of the businesses and
homes in the area. I don't think anybody was hurt, but Heather Watson
Walton made it on the news, and it was interesting, because I realized how
much like her mother she really sounds.
Guess I better close this ramble now--Rox needs to be fed, and I
really don't think I can resist the shower.
