First, thanks to all of you who commented and wished me to feel better. Tues., I talked to Danyell again, and she said by then my ears were nice and inflamed-at least one of them. We talked with the doctor, and I got more medicine. Great stuff!
I’ve been using Power Point all week, and today was the culmination. My classes all had tests. Mrs. Gayle took them home with her to finish grading, and I’ll finish the key for the biology test this weekend and have for her Mon. morning.
The assistant principal talked with me a long time yesterday. She is encouraging me to use some participation grades to try to get the students motivated. We are also trying a new program, school wide, called “Gotcha”. I’m probably not spelling it right, but the point of it looks good on paper. You reward the children who are behaving properly. The catch is that you’re supposed to especially reward the children who are your problem children. To me, that’s a bummer-because, I think, too many times, we don’t praise good behavior from others-we focus on the bad.
I really don’t like being the uniform police or the gum cop at school, and I know that some of you will think, “Well, just don’t.”, but I know I have to do it. Rules are there for a reason, and I know that if we don’t enforce them, then, there’s no point in having them.
I didn’t go to the game tonight. Luckily, we didn’t have a pep rally. I guess the weather was part of it-I’m not sure. My 7th period will take their test Monday, and I’m kind of glad that they had a few extra minutes in class.
