People

It would seem that some people have an innate knack for hurting others. I think this is the root of my previous post on games people play. There are a few people, people I even call friends that without fail, every time I hang out with them, it causes me to feel worse about myself ( Read more... )

You know my friend I imagine that being a friend of mine must be extremely tiresome at times, tho I certainly don't mean to be, but without benefit of being on the opposite side of the fence knowing what its like or knowing how to resolve the issues that make me so issue filled I have but two choices; one to avoid bringing other people in which I've done on countless occasions or Two to hope I can quick get my issues fixed and then spend the rest of my life trying to make it up to the friends that helped me through everything ( ... )

I had a student come up to me today and apologize for asking a lot of questions. I looked at her and said that I would much rather have you ask me things, and allow me to answer, than assume you were stupid and feel bad about yourself, and make me look like a bad teacher because you didn't learn anything.
What I mean by this, is I am never offended by people sharing their problems with me. I am never insulted by people sharing problems, concerns, questions, etc. This just means that they trust me enough, and care for me enough, and my opinion means something.
Blowing me off out of turn, without addressing what I am saying. Saying things that are only intended to make me feel less about myself (knocking a person off a pedestal is one thing, insulting them is another). Taking what I say for granted, or claiming it is your own... these are what I meant.

My friend, I certainly do not meen to be assumptious but am a little nervous by the possibility of offending you. Perhaps my foolish affinity for using words beyond my ability has again caused difficulty. Allow me to simply say, I'm sorry that you've been having some difficulties and would like to give you an open invitation to whatever diversion I can assist with. A reality I have found is that companionship with a friend can alieviate stresses that we find and stress must be the reality of such a true friend as you have the habbit of being.

Nah, was just worried that you assumed my post about a-holes was attributed to you. Not at all. Wanted to attempt to clarify by giving a case example of how people talking to me is never a bad thing and I generally enjoy it. Even if they need to vent things that would otherwise be sad.
Still plan on hanging out on Wednesday, asked Derek to hang as well as he is good people. :)

I am all about it my friend! You know what I've been jonesing for? Lord of the ring version of that take over the world game via little plastic figures, territories and dice. Can't say I would be any good at it but for some reason I've wanted to play it. Might it be fun for movies as well?
Peace till then.

P.S. If derrek is going to be there I should bring that Sword Of Doom movie. I don't inflict it upon most people 'cause its long and foreign and subtitled but might be appreciated. MAybe. Or I could bring over CONAN the destroyer!!! Good stuff!
