Whew

Well, classes have finally started, this is a happy thing.
I am normally kind of a loner at heart, don't mind keeping to myself, etc. However given that I didn't know anyone, had nothing really to do, etc... I was starting to go a little nuts here with boredom.
Now things are starting to move along, I am encountering people on a daily basis, which is a happy thing.
Have to admit this academia thing is different that what I expected. University professors are kind of distant, they focus almost solely on getting more money for their labs to run, their experiments to be done, papers to be written, but other than the getting money part, and occasionally teaching... they really don't seem to be all that involved.
I admit I am hardly an expert, having gone to a state college for awhile, etc. But in general, it seems like most university professors are much like the 'Boss' character in the Dilbert cartoon, all powerful... low on competence.
Ah well, just have to hang in there for a few years, then I can be the one begging money from any and everyone... all day... all night... that being my sole occupation in life... Maybe I will go corporate, they need Bioremediation people in the corporate world, right?
Corporations really seek to help us out, clean up the world, make it a better place! Right?
Or... maybe I am screwed...
Still, wouldn't have it any other way.
