Fun thingy to do

Comment on this post. I will choose seven interests from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so others can play along.

1.  Crocheting:  I'm guessing most of you know what this is... it's tying knots in yarn with a hook to make things.  I personally like my 6mm hook the best, but I've been known to branch out.  I mostly make scarves, but I just discovered how to make berets (hooray pattern books!) and I'm in the process of making an afghan.  I guess I technically don't do it right, but I like the way my stuff looks better so I'm sticking with it.  :D

2.  Geeky Stuff:  This one's just based off most stuff I like.  Most of my books are of the non-fiction, sciency variety (Napoleon's Buttons, Maverics Miracles and Medicine, The Great Influenza, etc), I'm a biochemistry major, I'm planning on building my own computer one of these days...  I've also been known to have conversations like this, "Can understanding be a product of understanding?  Only if understanding is defined to be zero or one."

3. Hanging out at RPI:  I actually do this less now...  My fiance was a student there (still sort of is) but he doesn't live on campus anymore.  I was mostly up there to see him.  They have fun stuff to do though, so sometimes I still go up.

4. Partridges:  Specifically, David Cassidy.  :D  Notice the icon.  I actually got back into them after dating a boy named David Cassidy (not the guy from the Partridge Family, sadly).  Downloaded a bunch of their music, bought the record.  If it was the 70s, I'd be a complete fangirl.

5. Sci-Fi Anything:  I have yet to find a scifi movie, book, or game that I didn't like.  With the exception of the Terminator.  But that had more to do with the special effects and how tired I was when watching it than the fact that it was science fiction.   My favorite book:  Fallen Dragon         My favorite movie: Gattaca

6. SMaRT Club:  Science, Math and Research Technology Club.  I'm the vice president!  Tis a club for women here majoring in science or math...  we host lectures, tutor high schoolers, and generally try to raise awareness for up and coming things in the fields of math and science.

7. Crazy Sagies:  This is what the group of girls I hang out with started calling themselves freshmen year.  I think it's appropriate, we're all loons.  :D  But it's fun, so it's okay.
